It is a white-yellow mineral, a type of translucent gypsum. Its name is derived from the Greek “selene”, meaning “moon”. Selenite resembles the satellite with its shade and characteristic needle-like fibers, which create shimmers of color – an attractive optical “lunar” effect. If a beam of light is shone through a piece of selenite, the mineral will seem to glow from within. A custom handwork turns Loan Cliff into a spectacular piece of interior decor.
